Comincs Presentation

The purpose of this essay is to provide an analysis for understanding
the developments and shifting concerns of both publicity and comics1
specifically written for children. It will help to understand how a child's
cognitive and linguistic growth is affected by these two means of
communication. The analysis is developed in the light of the notion of
episteme as established by Michel Foucault and also in the light of
Lyotard’s theory of knowledge within Postmodern philosophical values.
Of course, Scott McCloud, one of the most influential scholars in the
field of comics, as well as Vestegaard and Schroder, who analyzed
publicity in every detail, have been a strong influence.
